smart dining in austin
Back in the 1980s, Sharon Watkins gambled on a novel idea in Austin:
combine a Parisian-style bakery with a casual American-style bistro.
Today, Chez Zee offers its guests award winning dessert selections,
an ever-expanding and improving lunch, dinner, and brunch menu, a
full bar, as well as a new banquet party room to celebrate special
occasions.
On a recent dinner visit, I was excited by the eclectic
offerings on the menu, including New Orleans Crunchy Pecan Chicken,
Southern Maryland Crab Cakes, Tequila-Lime Chicken Grill,
as well as an assortment of familiar pasta dishes. Whatever you decide
on from the lunch or dinner menu, make sure you leave room for dessert.
All desserts are made in house from scratch with special attention
to the ingredients that go into the baked delights. Our favorite:
the CoCo Leches Cake, a fun twist on a favorite old Mexican pastry.
Hurry in and you can still catch the limited time offering of the
delicious New York Cheesecake with Big Apple Topping.
This Valentines Day, you might be struggling,
as no doubt many others will be, for the perfect spot. Rest assured
that with the friendly service, great food, and art adorned walls
of Chez Zee, you wont go wrong if our pick is your pick as well.
